In the pride, there isn't usually a selected single member who is in charge of taking care of the cubs. The parent who gave birth to the cubs is usually the one who is in charge of taking care of their own. That being said, in certain situations, there is a lion who chooses to stay in the Nursery who likes taking care of cubs more than their originally assigned duties. In this case, they can usually end up taking care of the cubs who have either been orphaned, or their parent prefers to be outside of the Nursery. Occasionally, if the parent who gave birth dies, the other parent will take it upon themselves to become a 'Denmother' to take care of their cubs. The 'Denmothers' are in charge of watching over the cubs, and making sure they don't get into too much trouble with the rest of the pride. Bahari is currently the only lion who is in the Nursery, because she is taking care of her and Amoka's two cubs, Kai and Kosa. Shimo is thinking of finding a new lion to make a 'Denmother', because he believes that it would be good idea to have a designated lion in charge of the Nursery.
