June 7th-The Darkness Within

Kosa yowled in surprise as she stared down at the decaying heart of the tree. Something about this tree didn't seem quite right to her anymore, and she can't say she truly felt safe around the goddess. Regardless, she felt like it was her responsibility to try and get rid of the threat without destroying her. Acting quickly, she cut the fight off from the tree, sealing them in an ice cavern. And she made sure to make it ice that was incredibly difficult to melt or break, you know, since they were fighting and her mate is a Fire Mage. She bounded across the battlefield toward one of the warriors and froze its' legs to the ground. She made her armor, only this time with some more offensive qualities, and headbutted her prisoner, the spike on her helmet cutting cleanly through the decaying wood.

Pulling back, she surveyed the area around her, searching for someone who was in need of some assistance in battle. She quickly found her target, the small blue cat with glowing eyes that gave her the flower seeds earlier when they were gardening. She weaved through the fighting cats, jumping and dodging some stray attacks that missed their marks. She tackled the thing fighting Nyx, tearing it off of her and sending them both tumbling away. She clawed at her opponent, her claws easily slicing through its' wooden flesh. It soon fell limp beneath her, reduced to broken wood and dirt. She turned back to Nyx, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Returning to the fight, she dove right back into the thick of it, now looking for any stray creatures that weren't already fighting someone. She took out her opponents with relative ease and grace, which was surprising for her. She was normally pretty clumsy, but she just assumed that her fight or flight reflexes kicked in. Kosa looked around the battlefield once more, this time searching for any seriously wounded cat. Since her mother was a téitheoir, she knew her way around most of the healing items that were available to her. Spotting someone in the corner, she began shoving her way through the battle, freezing any stray decay that she could see. She figured that the others would be more than capable of taking out some dead wood that was being held down.

Kneeling down beside her new patient, she was quite shocked to realize that it was the tiny green kit she found under a bush.

"Actias? What are you doing here?" She hissed, making a small chunk of ice for him to place on his wound.

"I-I was hiding out here while I decided whether I should go back or not," He said, hissing slightly as the ice touched his injury.

Kosa sighed and put him on her back. She glanced around, looking for Helios so she could tell him where she was going. She found him quickly and started going through the safest route she could find.

"Hey, Helios. I'm taking Actias here to safety," She said before quickly sprinting out of the cave.

Helios' eyes widened as he heard his mate yowl in surprise at the sight before them. There, right at the center of the heart of the tree goddess, was full of decaying soldiers. Roaring, he charged at them, mane ablaze and claws sparking as they clanked against the old wood. He felt the air around him get slightly colder, and he realized that Kosa must have iced over the tree in order to protect her. He snorted. He certainly didn't trust the goddess after this. He's considering taking Kosa and following the slight pull that still tugged at them.

Snarling, he took out beast after beast, turning anything that dared to touch him to a pile of ash. He saw red. Honestly, he didn't care if he happened to accidentally burn one of the trees' guardians. They had worked to keep this a secret from them, and it was quite literally one of the most useful pieces of information for them to have. He just walked deeper into the tree, leaving nothing but devastation in his wake.

He eventually came across a.. well he couldn't really tell what it was. But whatever it was, it looked corrupted. A giant black heart shaped thing was hanging from pieces of goo and dying wood in the center of a circular room. He was surprised to see that Kosas' ice even managed to reach all the way down here. Must have just not payed attention to what she was doing. He thought, clicking his claws together to make sparks. One of them happened to 'accidentally' land on the ground, and soon caught the whole room on fire. He stalked out of the room, fire trailing from his mane and tail. He lashed out at any beast that dared step too close, making quick work of them. He noticed that some of them were being held down by ice. Thanks, love. You just made my job so much easier than it was already. He thought, slicing through them as though they were made of water.

Suddenly, he got pounced on from the side. Roaring angrily, he turned his head to the side and bit down on whatever attacked him, getting rid of it quickly.

"Hey, Helios. I'm taking Actias here to safety," He turned around at the sound of his mates' voice, only to see her rushing towards the exit, carrying a tiny green bundle of fur, Actias, he presumed, on her back. Shrugging, he followed after her. He still managed to at least weaken everything that tried to attack him. He figured that these cats must be good for something other than gardening, and that they would be able to take care of a couple pieces of driftwood and mud. He followed the twisting tunnel that led out of the tree, slowly feeling the burning anger melt away, replaced with... indifference maybe? He couldn't really work out what exactly it was he was feeling, but that was a problem for another day.
