Romantic relationships are a lot like those of humans today. Many do end up staying together, and in some cases, like the leader, are pressured to stay together. Others don't work and get broken off. And some are only quick flings. As for mates, it's quite similar. Of those that stay together, the pride remembers them as one most of the time, unless talking about the achievements of one lion in particular. Flings aren't really publicized, unless it's gossip between one of the lions in the fling and a close friend of theirs. Cheating is looked down upon highly, and if a lion does cheat on their significant other, the other lion will most likely cut them off, and the cheater will be shunned by most of the other's friends for a few years, but will still be allowed to stay in the pride. The leader and their partner are sometimes pressured to stay together, but the pride usually understands that a relationship didn't work out.
