Namiane

aberjean’s cousin. namiane is a courtyard noble in the mollusc kingdom, and is secretly in charge of the local gossip newspaper. namiane is the type to know what everyone in the kingdom is up to, at all times, whether it be new trade pacts, interpersonal feuds, and even affairs. she knows the inner workings of the kingdom all too well, and is fully aware of just how hideously simpleminded all of its nobles truly are. despite her ditzy behavior, namiane is cunning, so much so that she’s managed to gaslight the court into thinking her cousin aberjean never truly existed, after helping to smuggle him out on land.

namiane at first glance is but a simple little lady in the palace, blending in perfectly with all the other madames. however, beyond that gentle smile there is more of a menace than anybody expects. she’s married, for certain, and happily, indeed, but not because she is on love. she’s thoroughly taking advantage of her pompous husband and his influence, but she is by far not interested in using that influence to improve the court’s system. no, on the comtrary, she’s more than interested in seeing it all burn to the ground. too bad they’re underwater!
