an older, rugged mawuust. noel has been in the occupation of manastalking for as long as he can remember. the second he got out of the rivers in the uncharted lands, he’s been tussling with odd creatures of some sorts. people really trust his experience, but barely dare to ask how he got this good. noel got his nickname, “styx”, from not only his death glare, but also his scarily efficient way of working. noel is thoroughly merciless to anything odd and dangerous, and takes it out with frightening skill. though very intimidating, noel is a warm person. it's just that he's very work-oriented, and doesn't leave a lot of time for chit-chat while he's on the job. he happens to be on the job quite a lot. his coworkers just don’t seem to understand it — and he’s really not happy about being teamed up with such an energetic young guy. though they work together like bread and butter in the field, interpersonally… not so much. he feels too bad about voicing it, though.
noel lives primarily on land, despite being a mawuust, and has been for decades. drought is a particular weakness of his, but he remedies this with custom water tubes leading to his gills. they've been remodelled several times, because those god damn abominations keep chewing through the tubes.
