the highest order of fae. most fae are either born, or may choose to ally themselves under a Court. Courts correspond either with day and night, or seasonal cycles, and will be at their most powerful in their corresponding times.

  • The Seelie Court

The Seelie Court is governed by the Sunflower Monarch. this Court corresponds with the time of day, and usually only surfaces when the sun comes up. the Sunflower Monarch is one of the oldest fae, presenting as a sunflower in elegant dress, constantly swarmed by luminescent butterflies. they are a cheerful individual, often peaceful, but has strict rules set into place. the Sunflower Monarch ensures their court is strictly organized. however, despite this organization, they do not rule with as much of an iron fist as one would expect. the sunflower monarch, though fond of shenanighans of all kinds, is compassionate at heart, and the laws of their court merely exist to keep their capricious subjects in tow. due to these rules, fae under the Seelie court are often much more gentle and kind.

The Spring Court: A court under the rules of the Seelie Court. characterized by their curious, playful subjects. mostly innocent pranksters, and are fond of non-fae. typically pleasant to encounter. this court is ruled by King of Crocuses, an equally playful entity. he is the smallest of all rulers, and like the Sunflower Monarch, presents in the shape of a flower humanoid. said to have been the inspiration for the fairy tale Peter Pan, due to his eternally youthful looks, and bratty personality. despite his childlike appearance and mannerisms, a surprisingly competent ruler, as far as his enforcing of the Seelie Laws goes.

The Summer Court: A Court also under the rules of the Seelie Court. a free-spirited bunch, with little to no sense of responsibility, but a lot of sense for a good time. much less strict than the spring court, and with that, a lot more unruly. "ruled" by Silenus, a fae with Greek ancestry. Silenus was the first of satyrs, and encapsulates all of their capricious personalities. he is known for many accomplishments, such as being drunk in convenient places, but most of all, raising and tutoring the god dionysus. Silenus does not quite rule, so much as he holds musical contests, gathers his subjects for philosophical sermons, and engages with others in a common love for art. a thoroughly sweet, cheerful, and salacious old man, who is perhaps far too consistently intoxicated to rule a court. fortunately, everyone is too fond of him to nudge him off the throne!

  • The Unseelie Court
image1.jpg
The Unseelie Court is governed by Lady Moon, who does not so much govern it as much as demand respect. the people under her court do not follow too many rulings enforced by her, and mostly govern themselves out of a sense of community and respect towards their superior. the Unseelie Court has a love for "duels", whether this be actual physical fights, or simply a form of game. Lady Moon is a semi-ethereal being, as she herself is an untouchable projection, and does not seem to have a lower body. most of the time, the lady is silent, and prefers her own company. a cold, and distant person, yet with a capricious side veiled by her aloof exterior.

image4.jpgThe Autumn court: A Court under the rules of the Unseelie Court. the more eerie side of fae, with an unrivaled mysterious aura and distant personalities. Autumn Court fae are saddled up with the responsibility of cleaning up the mess the Summer Court leaves behind, causing for somewhat of a hostile dynamic between the two factions. ruled by the Queen of Crickets, a woman whose personality wilts just about as much as her surroundings during the season. she is somewhat of an unstable, dramatic person, making her impulsive and unpredictable. despite this, her Court abides by organized and strict rules, mostly due to her much colder advisors taking over most of her duties for her. the Queen of Crickets is one of the few rulers who directly interacts with non-fae, mostly for trade, and her diplomatic skills are next to none, compared to other rulers.

The Winter Court: A court also under the rules of the Unseelie Court. known to be brooding and distant, the Winter Court is characterized by their disdain towards others and a dark outlook on life. pessimist philosophers, and see their Court as more of an ideology than an actual faction. Frost Flower, the ruler of this Court, is about the embodiment of their Court, and is just about the least personable Ruler of all other fae. they, along the rest of their Court, advocate for personal innovation and cultivating their own arcane skill. a dedicated intellectual.
