the protagonist of the hit 90s anime by the same name. healing darling ami-chan is a magical girl anime, where ami-chan fights off strange diseases every new ep! originally the brainchild of a med school student-turned-mangaka, where the manga features episodic adventures of exaggerated diseases. the anime, in the meantime, is more oriented towards educating children on how to stay healthy, with a healthy (?) bit of disease trivia! critics say it went a bit too studio-original at the end, and think it all really went downhill after the osteoporosis arc.
ami-chan is a cheerful and resourceful young girl, who’s a high schooler by day, and a magical girl at night! ami and her friends explore all sorts of woes a teenage girl could have, but most of all, worry about saving the world from disease! wielding a massive syringe and a proper banger of a theme song (sung by nobuyuki nakanishi himself), there’s no sickness ami can’t defeat!
