Meet the Theta Clan

The Theta Clan is the resourceful clan. They are strong and capable people, who are quick to win over those who meet them with a display of  their unwavering morals and willingness to lend a hand to those in need. Theta are noble people who worship many spirits and believe that training and discipline will bring happy lives. They are skilled in many martial arts and swordplay and use their skills to hunt the chocolate predators of their territory. Each Theta village has a number of blacksmiths and armories that work with precious metals to create ornate bladed weapons and armor for their shinobi soldiers. Every settlement has a dojo that houses the young men and women who protect their village. Their mastery of bladed weapons paired with their invisibility makes them excellent hunters and agents of espionage. It's said that the Alpha royal family even has their own unit of elite Theta warriors for global protection. While visiting other clans, Thetas sometimes wear bells around their necks, in their hair or on their clothing as a symbol of peace, ensuring the other clan members that they will not sneak up on them. The sounds of bells chiming have become synonymous with the Thetafloss.

After the War of Pnevma, the Thetan Civil War, the clan was split in two, with their Western half becoming the Eta clan. The war torn clans have both suffered greatly because of the conflict, and are on the road to recovery. While the Eta remained on the council of Unity, the Theta are now a rogue nation, unaffiliated with the Unity of Clans, and left on their own when it comes to forming alliances and defending against enemies. When the war concluded, the people who fought against the Rebel Shinobi had their gems broken and split by the Sword of Pnevma, and they became the Eta clan. Despite their origins as a single clan, these two clans are locked in a constant state of ceasefire, waiting for the other to attack first and give rise to another war.

culture

The Thetas are strong believers in honor and integrity. A Theta's word means a lot and breaking someone's trust is something they condemn. Fighting honorably, hunting with gratitude, and honoring their elders is something the Theta take great pride in. A Theta never gives in, never betrays and never backs down from a fight. They are trained from a young age to protect themselves in their harsh environment, and Thetas outside of the clan tend to still have strong ties to their heritage and its not uncommon to find Theta training dojos in other clans, preserving their clan's traditional martial arts.

The Theta are a spiritual clan, they give thanks before eating, take off shoes and weapons before entering homes to keep bad spirits outside, and give offerings and prayers to their many spiritual protectors on a daily basis. They thank the spirits who give them resources, and help them hunt, and they thank the spirits of the forest, trees, and sky. They pray for fortune, love, and prosperity, and appease the spirits of death and torment so that they may be spared. Many theta claim to see the spirits in the wildlife that lives in their areas, things similar to human's yokai, oni, and beasts find their way into the Theta tradition and spoken folklore when someone claims to see a spirit in the deepest parts of the forest.

Family names and honoring one's family is important to the Theta. They will often refer to one another by their family name as a term of respect. Soiling one's family name is a horrible thing to the Theta and they look down on those who are disrespectful to their family. When a loved one died the Theta will build a small homage to them with flowers, candles, and artifacts from the loved one and will often speak to them through these small shrines after they have passed. Some more noble families even have large shrines where they keep contact with many generations of ancestors.

The traditional clothes of the Theta stem from their ancestors in the Beta Clan so there are a lot of similarities. They often wear long thick robes tied tightly between the upper and lower shoulders. A wealthy Theta may be found with many bracelets, rings, and pins in their hair made of precious stones and gold. Less wealthy Theta can often be found in platform sandals, and loose fitting robes of neutral and dark colors. Their layered Kimono and Yukata are often donned for ceremonies and festivals while more modern clothing is acceptable the rest of the year. A modern Theta's wardrobe is usually a mix of the two, even to the point where some will wear modern jeans and tee shirts with a loose yukata over top.

attributes

Here are some common attributes shared by the members of the Theta Clan. Does your floss fit the mold? Or are they an odd man out? Either way these are some stereotypes they may be compared to by other Candyfloss throughout their lives.

  •  Stubborn; Thetas are often set in their ways, and once they set their minds to something they tend to see it through. When they face adversaries their instinct is to stand their ground and speak louder. When they're righteous this is a noble trait, but in a rebellious teenager its a lot to deal with.

  •  Resourceful; fighting nobly does not equal fighting fair. A Theta is known to make use of weapons, invisibility, poisons and other methods to ensure their victory. Theta's use their environment to their advantage and will often take down bigger threats using their cunning. They often work these methods into their every day life and other floss have learned to be wary of them.

  •  Secretive; While the Theta frown upon lying and broken word, they are not without their secrets. From their methods of training to the way they cook their meals the Theta keep many secrets. Its not often that a Theta will let you think of them one way, while hiding a second life just under the surface.

  •  Trustworthy; Thetas are extremely reliable friends and will die for those that they love without hesitation. They will rather perish than betray a comrade. Befriending a Theta and gaining their loyalty can almost always lead to life long bonds that will never be broken.

  •  Bad with Technology; Though technology is not normally a Theta's strong suit, they are usually capable with most common tech like TVs and Smartphones. That doesn't stop the other clans from assuming things though. "Don't trust a Theta with a remote" is a common house hold phrase, and the image of a forest dwelling Theta attempting to type on a keyboard is hysterical to most clans. A lot of these stereotypes stem from when the clan was first established and they had little memory of technology from their previous lives. Old stigmas are hard to break.

  • Rugged; true or not, many floss believe the Theta clan to be undomesticated people, living in huts and mud. Though many Theta are quite regal, they are stereotyped outside their clan as being uncivilized. Theta who live in other clans often shy away from dainty or pretty things because of the expectation for them to be rugged and masculine.

History

The Great Rot

Several decades ago, under the ruling of the last set of leaders, a sickness unseen before infected the Candyfloss. After the first reported case in Beta Clan, more and more Floss across the globe started to feel ill and lethargic. They stopped going to work, preferring to not leave their homes. They refused to contact friends and family, basically disappearing. They remained in their beds as their color and sanity faded, not eating, and some even starving to death before people started to catch on that something was wrong. When help finally came, for many it was too late, but those they could still help, they took to hospitals and Zeta facilities. 30% of the population was infected with this mystery illness. The facilities were packed with the affected and Floss raced to find out whatever they could, but the affliction was so unknown even the symptoms were strange to them. The ill were slow to move and only spoke to beg for sugar, but what they craved now made them even sicker causing them to lash out, vicious and hostile.

One day, these now called Rottenfloss in one of these facilities snapped, and driven by madness and starvation, they killed and ate many of the scientists. Mass panic erupted Alpha clan and many of the good fighters from the other clans joined forces to protect the remaining healthy population. Rottonfloss escaped from their cells in masses, flooding the streets and eating any "sugar" citizens they could get their claws on. The Martial law was enacted and strict curfews were enforced, with the Rottonfloss completely taking over huge portions of the map. The King Pendragon (father of Derek) fought on the front lines with his soldiers and was able to drive out a large number of the Rottenfloss into the wastelands south of Alpha. The floss of Glykos built huge structures with help from the gamma, giant 1400 KM walls that would keep the Rottonfloss in the wastelands. Homes were raided to make sure that no Rottenfloss remained and those even showing the smallest of symptoms were ripped from their families and thrown out into the wastelands with the other Rottenfloss. It took weeks to clean out each territory and people lived in fear that it was never going to end. In the wastes, Rottenfloss battled and ate each other trying their hardest to stave off the ever-present hunger.

Zetas were working night and day to cure this Great Rot, but they weren't quick enough. The great King fell in battle when a hoard of Rottonfloss came from the sea and swarmed the Alpha capital. Derek Pendragon (6 EYO) was the lone survivor after the raid thanks to the vigilant work of his bodyguard, Grant (17 EYO), the then crown prince of Gamma. Without the king there was chaos, and in the struggle Grant was infected. The boy king, Derek demanded the Zeta to heal his bodyguard and they continued working on a cure as more and more of the nation was raided by rottenfloss.

Weeks passed and they were finally successful. They had a cure and they  ventured out to the wastelands to use it. The cure worked almost 100%. While the Floss were no longer Rotten and craving sugar, their fur still stayed its dark color and they still could not eat sugary things. Their spines extended into tails of different shapes and sizes and their gems had all cracked and warped into a distorted Beta-like shape. Many were traumatized, stricken with only horrible memories of starvation and death. They were forever changed, but it was a long way from the zombies
they once were and the newly named Trufflefloss were eager to come back to society.

It was not to be, however, for those from Beta Clan. The clan that they were originally from did not want them back, this clan  was too afraid of a second outbreak to even consider letting them home, and refused to take down their wall. The Council met and it was decided that for now, no clan that didn’t want these Trufflefloss to come back would be forced to allow it and so a new clan was formed out on the wastes for those who could not return home. This new clan took on the name Theta, and found refuge in the forest they were once condemned to. They were not alone however, the clans came together under the leadership of the new King Pendragon and gave aid to the Thetafloss. They helped pave roads, feed young ones, and teach the Theta how to thrive in their new environment. The Mu gave them medicine, the Iota gave them weapons, the Gamma gave them structure, and the Beta gave them an enemy. OVer time the aid from other clans lessened and the state of Theta fell into ruin.

The Beta spat at the Theta, "Rotten" they called them "Tainted", "scourge". The Beta were terrified, wounded and betrayed by the Rottenfloss, and could not separate them from the Trufflefloss in their minds. Some felt this fear as anger and hatred, some as terror and sadness. The Theta and Beta clans went into a silent war for many decades, as their bitterness and fear would never die until they did. As one leader passed the throne to the next and the next the Beta slowly became more tollerant of the Theta, forgetting the scenes of horror they witnessed but the bitterness was not as easily forgotten. Now the Beta leader Kathari wishes to mend the wounds between the clans and forget ways of her Grandmother, and Great grandmother. But her people are not so easily swayed, and the wall between the Theta and Beta stood firm for many years, until it was torn down in the War of Pnevma.

leader

Denki Inoue

Denki Inoue was born into a poor village deep in the forests of Theta. When he was a boy, his single mother struggled to feed him and his siblings and he was forced to work at a young age to try and support his younger siblings and himself alongside his mother. Despite their hard work, they were still not able to make enough money to live, and his mother choose to sell his two younger sisters away just to put food on the table, hoping they would have a better life wherever they ended up. She told him that they would go off to be maids in a wealthy house hold in Beta, and they would be paid and fed if they worked hard. Denki believed that they would. Denki and his remaining younger brother fought hard to survive but when their mother grew ill from over working, they were unable to care for her and she died in her sleep. Soon afterwards, while gathering fire wood to sell, Denki's younger brother went missing. Denki searched for him but could never find him. Others in the village claimed that he must've been eaten by the beasts of the forest. Denki was left alone in the village at only 11 EYO. It was a hard life for him, moving from home to home, desperately trying to find work.

Eventually he tried to leave the village to find a better place to work and live. The scrawny, dirty child was armed with only a chipped katana and desperation. He was quickly attacked by creatures in the forest, and nearly lost his life just as his brother did before him. He was saved just before being eaten by a beast, by a Shinobi. He took him back to his own home to clean and feed the boy, and once he heard his story he decided to let him stay. Denki lived with the Shinobi for several years, learning the way of the sword and of the ninja. He learned  to read and to do simple math, and he learned stories of Theta's history and of legends of spirits and magic. He trained hard, hoping he too could become a shinobi and defend Theta one day. When he was 15 EYO his adoptive father went away on a mission and never returned to the village, leaving Denki to fend for himself once again. Thankfully the skills he'd been taught gave him ways to earn money and put food on the table for himself.

He found work at a small ramen shop in town. His boss took a liking to him, and let him eat for free and tried to pay him well for his hard work. Denki quickly fell in love with the daughter of his boss. Her name was Yume, and she was quiet and sweet. He loved Yume dearly. She was the most precious and delicate thing he had ever known. She made him laugh, and he made her feel safe. Denki and Yume married when they were only 17 EYO and it was the happiest time in his life. There were leaks in their ceiling, callouses on his hands, and holes in their clothing, but they had each other and that made them so happy.

Yume was expecting their first child when a sickness overcame the village. It was a horrible plague of Direpolks that was quickly infecting all those in the village with weak constitutions, namely children, elderly and fragile floss like Yume. She came down with the illness and was bedridden. Their local doctor was untrained, and inexperienced. They told the two that unless a cure was given, that Yume may not make it long enough to give birth. Denki was terrified for his beloved wife. He couldn't bear the thought of losing her too. The cure for the Direpolks was discovered, but it was created in Beta. Getting it across the borders to Theta, then into the thick forest to their small village would take too long. So Denki steeled his nerves. He left Yume in the care of her parents and set out to the Capital to try and get his hands on the cure himself.

It was a long, hard journey, he had never ventured too far outside the village himself before but he was able to make it to the capital. He was amazed at the City of Gold, it was so bright and bustling, nothing like the villages he knew. When he arrived he came to find that the cure had not yet made it there from Beta. Embargoes on the trade between Theta and Beta slowed down the process greatly. So he decided he would just have to go and get it himself. He traveled across all of Theta to the border of the clans, and crossed under the Great wall at the mountain top. It was an amazing wall, and he marveled at the craftsmanship.

He ventured into Beta, and there he witnessed cruel treatment from the Betans. They turned their noses up at him, denied him service, and kicked dirt onto him. The nasty things they said to him shocked him to hear. He could never imagine a whole city of people so rude. All because he was a Thetafloss. He was appalled. He was unable to purchase the cure from the apothecary shops, despite knowing they had it in stock. He heard from someone that he could get a hold of it in a dark alley shop, illegally. With no time to lose he decided to take this option. Then he saw the underbelly of Beta, and what was really going on behind closed doors. The hatred for the Thetafloss went deeper than only cruel remarks. He saw Theta children being mistreated, bought and sold in the dark alleyways, and being forced to work. He was outraged and disgusted, and it made him sick to think that his own sisters may have ended up in a place like this. He tried to rescue the children he encountered but was told that it would not fix the systemic issues, and more and more Thetafloss would suffer still. He swallowed his emotions, bought the cure for Yume at a ridiculous mark up, and left the awful nation of Beta. As he crossed back into Theta he looked at the great wall that separated the clans, and realized what it really stood for. It was a symbol of the oppression the Betans placed on Theta. A fire of hatred was lit in his heart from then on.

When Denki returned to his village finally, much time had passed. When he arrived he was too late to save Yume. She lived long enough to give birth to their child, a baby girl that Yume named Hikari. Yume was so weak from the illness that the effort of giving birth was too much for her to take and she did not survive. The baby, Hikari only lived for a few short days before she too caught the Direpolks and died as well. Denki returned home several weeks after they both were gone. He was in shambles. Everything he loved in the world was taken from him. He worked so hard to bring them the cure, but it was all for nothing, and it only served to rob him of the last bit of time he had with his fragile Yume, and the only time he could have had with his daughter. She was buried before he arrived. He didn't even get to see her face.

Denki fell into a deep depression. He had suffered losses before, his mother, sisters, brother, even his adoptive father, and each time he soldiered on, but now he felt as if his world was stripped of all it's color. He felt hopeless. He could not bear to stay in the village that reminded him of his old life, so he set out again to wander aimlessly. He wanted death, to allow the forest to claim his life, like it should have so long ago. He wanted to leave this cruel and awful world and be with Yume again. He nearly let it happen before he came into contact with an organization of rebellious Thetans in a nearby village.

They were activists, shinobi who acted against the mistreatment of Theta by the Betaclan. They did illegal things, but for the good of the people, and they fought against the Empire when necessary. He was saved by them, and they understood his anguish and frustrations. They convinced him not to throw away his life, but to use it to make a difference. They too knew the horrors on the other side of the wall, and they acted to try and fight against such cruelty. Denki would never heal fully from the loss of Yume and Hikari, but the Rebels set him to new purpose. While working with them he was paid well, and he was able to thrive. For the first time in his life he was able to eat his fill. He knew a life without struggling for money and when he had enough he even purchased a glittering marriage gem, one that he could not afford for Yume when she was alive, but he wears now to honor her.

He was 19 EYO when his group of rebel shinobi were in the Village of Dento Pnevmatron, and after completing their mission to stop candyfloss trafficking to Beta, he and his buddies decided to visit the tourist attraction in town, the Sword of Pnevma. It was a legendary golden blade stuck in a stone in a river bed. It was said that the person who pulled the sword would be the chosen one. A floss deemed worthy by the Spirits of Theta that would lead the clan to a brighter future. Denki watched as his buddies tried to pull the sword but their hands were cast away like everyone's was. He knew it was silly, but when Denki went to pull it, fully expecting it to push him away as well, his hand grasped onto it tightly and the blade began to shimmer. He felt it's magic flow through him and with ease he pulled the sword from the stone.

He was floored, and thought only for a moment that the Sword must have made a mistake. But then he heard the intentions of the Spirits inside of the blade. They comforted him and encouraged him. He could feel the power flowing into him and he knew it was no mistake. He knew this is what all his suffering was leading him to. A purpose for his life. He would take this blade and use it to really make a difference in Theta. From then the organization of rebels changed their tactics. They sword to follow Denki and to wage war on Theta. They knew in order to really change the way things were, they would have to do more than just defeat the Betafloss. Things in Theta would need to change too. The best way to do that was to put Denki in the throne and force things to change for the better.

They called themselves the Warriors of Pnevma, and they gathered more and more believers who trusted the Spirits who chose Inoue. When their army was assembled, they marched to the Capital and on the day of the Anosia Festival, then declared war. The war went on for many months. The Empire was strong and Haruka Hiyashiko, the current leader of Theta, was a fierce opponent. Time after time Inoue thought they might lose but he was able to make it out by the skin of his teeth. Finally they made allies with the people of Iota, and after battling to reach them, they joined forces and took Hiyashiko captive. The Warriors of Pnevma marched on the Wall of Rot, and faced off against the Unity Leader, King Derek Pendragon. Denki fought hard, and struggled to survive like he always had.

Finally, when things looked lost, the sword in his hand shimmered again and the spirits spoke to him again. He lifted the blade and brought it down on Hiyashiko. It phased right through her body, only cutting through her soul gem, splitting it down the center. The power of the sword flowed through her then, and through all of those who fought alongside her in the war, and it changed them. The spirits spoke to all of them in a way, revealing to them their intentions. Hiyashiko and her shinobi were no longer Thetafloss, but a new clan that would be called Eta. The Alpha leader accepted that the Spirits had plans for Inoue, and he allowed him to speak to the Unity council and form a peace treaty to end the war. It resulted in power of Theta to be given to him, and removed Theta from the Unity council for now. Many of the other clans were bitter with Theta, and wanted to turn their backs on the clan. King Derek warned them, that if they gave up on Theta now, things would only turn out the same way again, so they begrudgingly agreed to remain peaceful with the Theta Clan.

Now Denki Inoue rules Theta how he sees fit. He's torn down the Wall of Rot between the nations, and melted down the city of gold to fund new developments. He tore down much of the dangerous Thetan Forest, an built railways to allow for quicker travel and commerce between villages, to insure that no village is out of the reach of the supplies they need every again. He's set out to take down the Floss Trading industry in Beta and personally leads his army of Shinobi to stamp it out at the root. He set up proper education and hospitals in the areas that needed them most, and continues to make more and more changes to the clan as time goes on. He has learned from his past and is using his newfound power to change things for the better, like he was destined to do.

Theta territory

Theta is located in the wild lands of mid Glykos. After the War of Pnevma the land was split in two, with the Easternmost side remaining under Thetan control. This side was least effected by the war's damages. They share borders with Gamma Nu and Iota. The vast majority of the land in Theta is harsh and filled with dangerous predatory animals. The forests are dense and can be treacherous on their own. The Theta forests can have trees up to 400 feet tall in certain areas and is abundant with exotic plant life that you cant find anywhere else like bamboo trees and willows. The land is fertile and temperate. The scars of war can be seen all over the Theta region, but in time the land will heal and the villages will be rebuild. Theta settlements tend to have a focus on function over form and are usually made of wood and stone. Technology in Theta can be harder to come by than other clans but in the wake of the war, more and more technological advances have been brought into theta from their allied clans, like proper electricity, healthcare and education. The Thetans are still hesitant to fully embrace these changes, it's impossible to find cars and trucks in Theta but its far more likely to see Theta riding on the backs of beasts or using drawn carriages to get from town to town. The dangerous land between clans has been slowly cleared away for small safe paths and roads to be built to aid in travel and trade between villages. However the Thetans still care deeply for their forests and certain areas are prohibited from entry to maintain the wildlife there.

nature

RgQ3ot4.pngThe weather in Theta is mild, with high winds through the autumn months and light snowfall in winter. The sky is usually overcast but gives off a burnt orange hue. The trees vary in type throughout the clan with temperate deciduous trees in the south, and sub-alpine trees as you move north, and patches of willow and bamboo trees throughout. The crops grown in Theta vary but are mostly cultivated in the East outside the bounds of the thick forested areas. The animals that can be found in Theta range from small and harmless to large life-threatening beasts. A black and white variant of the Kappa's Pappabear likes to lounge about the bamboo trees in Theta and the great Anosia Kirrin and Dragons are often found coiled around tree branches and perched atop shrines. mmhxjRe.png

landmarks

The Ruins of Chrysis Aspida
Or the  "City of Gold" was the capital of Theta prior to the civil war. After  being occupied by the Rebel Shinobi the castle of gold was burnt to the  ground and the surrounding village was pillaged and destroyed. What was  once a false symbol of Thetan pride and prosperity is now a ruin of it's  former self, standing as a truth revealed by the revolution.

 The Shrine of Déntro Pnevmáton
In the densest part of the theta forest, It’s hard to miss the giant Déntro Pnevmáton. A place of remembrance and peace offering to the theta. At it’s heart between the roots and below it’s trunk. A shrine sits with an open mouth to the surface. Many come here to mourn their dead, or ask their kin who’ve passed to watch over them. Other’s come to ask for luck, offering candies, charms and tokens in exchange. Three stands decorated by a singular large rope ring, smaller ropes of a similar deep crimson stretch out to surrounding trees. Incense burners and paper lanterns help to bring a calming atmosphere here and light a path to the shrine.

The Sword of Pnévma
In the East there is a river that cuts through Theta. At the river's fork there is a large stone, carved with many intricate tellings of a time long passed. In the center of the triangular stone there is a mighty sword, blasted constantly by the river's stream its said to be the sharpest sword in Theta history, placed in the stone by the warriors of old. Legend says that the one to pull the sword from the stone will be the Theta's mightiest shinobi, and will bring the clan to new heights. Many have tried to pull the sword to no avail. Each time a new member of the royal family turns 18 EYO they are brought to the sword to attempt to pull it but none have prevailed. That is until Denki Inoue pulled the magical sword from the stone and begun the War of Pnevma. The war ended when Inoue used the sword to split the gem of Hiyashiko and tore the Theta into two clans, making the Empire supporters into what is now known as the Eta clan.

 The Temple of Pnévma
A  great temple was erected to house the legendary sword of Pnevma, after  the spirits of Caramella used the sword to split the gems of the Eta and  separate the lands of the two warring clans, the sword has become  dormant again. Denki Inoue, the former wielder of the sword has placed  it in a replica stone similar to the one it was stuck in for generations  before, and built up a temple around the sword. Just like before no  floss is able to take the sword from it's plinth except those who have  been acknowledged by the spirits such as Denki, Haruka and the young  prince Kawamaru. Memorial monuments have been placed in the temple to  honor those who were lost in the war of Pnevma and statues have been  created of certain important Martyrs who were key players in the war.  Floss from both clans come to the temple often to pay their respects to  the shinobi who fought to bring them better lives.

key locations

Ningyo City
Ningyo City is renowned as the City of Opportunity among its hopeful residents. Built following the end of the War, this new metropolis now shelters hundreds of thousands. As an industrial city, Ningyo revolutionized mechanical works. While streets retain their traditional Thetan influence, illuminated signage and ornamental gears adorn the facades, signaling a fusion of the past and future. At the city's core lies a bustling train station, a symbol of pride for the residents that built it and a hub for transportation — the city's lifeblood. There is a rising tide of high-tech workshops, notably those that specialize in replacement limbs for veterans. These artisans have top notch precision, and attention to detail that easily trumps mass-produced prosthesis. Additionally, it is common to see mechanics at local markets showcasing the upgrades they offer. Ningyo City is dedicated to progress and innovation, but the residents will never forget their roots.

New Timiméno Álsos
Timimeno Alsos was a villiage that was destroyed in the War of Pnevma, New Timiméno Álsos was built by the citizens of the original city to preserve their culture and heritage. It stands as the border city between Theta and Eta. Since the war, what was originally a small town has been rebuilt and expanded into a large center for trade in Southern Glykos. It houses generations of Samurai soldiers called the Timiméno Álsos. The soldiers from the Timiméno Álsos start their training from a very young age in order to become powerful warriors.  Although they're known for their soldiers, the taverns, inns, and forges are also very popular in Timiméno Álsos.  The warriors here are stern when dealing with the two clans and act as guards from nefarious individuals that wish to cause trouble in their neighboring clan. Getting through the checkpoints in Timemeno is the only means of legally crossing the border.

Megáli Synkomidí
Megáli synkomidí is a working class town nestled in a quiet valley within the Theta territory. This quiet town is a hub of agriculture where the Floss inhabiting it spend their days farming the local crop that grows in abundance; Jelly beans! This town houses some of the kindest and most hardworking Floss you could imagine; most residents spend their days in the fields, tending to their crops for the next harvest. These Jellybeans are tended to in large pools of crystalline sugar treated water to ensure the sweetest of treats each harvest! Megáli synkomidí's nature is less wild then some parts of the Theta, but the clear skies, long natural grass that flows in the calming winds, and natural flora make up for an area of calm beauty that anyone would want to visit when they need to take a break from their bustling city-scape home towns. Those who visit Megáli synkomidí can take refuge in one of the wooden houses located within its town limits, these homes are perfect to rest in with their hand woven mats of sugar cane.

Shuten Doji Falls
Shuten Doji is a vibrant cliff side city nestled behind a cascading waterfall, with the water stretching out towards a taffy settlement in the oceans below. While the main infrastructure is built atop the cliff, buildings cling to the edges with sturdy supports. The underwater buildings are constructed mainly from scavenged surface material -  metals, stone, and cement - forming compact home structures. The bamboo and anubias decorating the aqua-scape add hominess to the area. There is a long and winding path from the cliff side to the water, offering safe passage to non-taffies seeking entry. Additionally, a port lies barely outside the city, providing swift travel between Theta and Karpos. The waters host rare fish that migrate through the area, making Shuten Doji a cultural center of fine dining, and opening avenues for aspiring chefs to hone their culinary skills. Kamaitachi Villiage
Kamaitachi is a serene town born from the ashes of war.  This town is built around an ancient temple to the spirits, once revered by civilians, and eventually becoming a place of refuge during the War of Pnevma. It is said that during the war, fields burned around the temple while the hiding floss were miraculously protected inside. As the civilians slowly exited the temple, they noticed the empty fields being reclaimed by wildlife, and decided to remain close to their sanctuary. Its surroundings, transformed into a sprawling butterfly garden by the insects attracted to the blooming flowers, offer solace and renewal to all who dwell within. Kamaitachi is nestled around a once-empty glade, now adorned with cobblestone paths and colorful wildflowers. The entrance point accommodates vehicles, while smaller roads remain unpaved. This village now serves as a symbol of healing and reprieve.

The War of Pnevma

81160744_bddbmIAFYDTjRVb.pngTheta was a struggling clan, with poverty rampant in it's small isolated villages. People were starving in the streets, dying of illnesses that could have been cured and living in the worst of conditions due to the undeveloped clan and the harsh environment they lived in. The most contributing factor in their hardships was due to the politics of their Leader. Because of their origin in the great rot, the Thetas were constantly trying to prove themselves and earn the respect of the other, more stable clans. Especially the Beta clan which has always hated the Theta and done whatever they could to keep the Theta from thriving. Haruka Hiyashiko, the leader of Theta worked hard to slowly build relationships with the other clans and heal the damaging reputation that the Theta clan had. In her efforts to do so she prolonged her peoples' suffering, and her pride kept her from confiding in them about how bad the situation truly was or asking for help in building her struggling clan. Because of the rampant deaths, and the suffering of the people one man, Denki Inoue led a rebellion against Haruka and the Empire of Theta. Inoue had pulled the sacred sword of Pnevma that legends say would be wielded by the true leader of Theta. Many of the people of Theta, worn down from their difficult lives, backed Inoue and believed that his revolution would save them. The war was long, brutal and not only ripped theta in two but also brought about discontent in the Unity, whom disagreed on how they should react to this civil conflict. Finally the war come to it's final battle when Inoue's men reached the Wall of Rot separating the Theta and Beta's clan, a symbol of their oppression and he and his shinobi broke down the wall. Inoue faced off with King Derek Pendragon and with the power of the sword of Pnevma he was able to negotiate a peace treaty granting him the power of Theta's Leadership.

Clan Holiday

Asylia Festival

The Theta are a clan of strength, stealth, and virtue. They stand tall and strong against any opponent. Born from a plague and despised by many, the Theta have to face strife and hardship from the day they are born. The Theta Clan holiday Asylia is a day to revere those who fought before you, and to honor those who fight now for the freedom and justice of the clan. Throughout Thetas many dangerous forests one can find a number of shrines dedicated to the great spirits who brought the lost Theta in and gave them the forests to call their home. The spirits are wise, merciful, and generous, and it's said the spirits sometimes disguise themselves as Anosia Kirin. On the day of the Asylia fest many Theta trek down sacred paths to the many beautiful shrines they have built nestled into their thick forests. Together they give offerings, and pray to the spirits to guide them and to continue to bless them with safety. These trips can be treacherous, particularly for those with little battle ability and many Theta will hone their invisibility specifically to allow them to make safe trips to and from these sacred grounds. When night falls all the Theta gather in their cities for festivities. Bright lanterns are strung up and booths are set to line the streets. Games, food, wares, you can always find something fun around each corner during the festival. Theta clan members don their most beautiful kimono or yukata and gather with friends and family to enjoy the bonfires and fireworks set off during the festival. This is one night that the Theta want to be seen and heard. It is a day of joy, reverence, and peace.

The Asylia Fest is celebrated in April

Invisibility

The Theta Clan’s power is the ability to  become invisible. Blending into the forest is a valuable asset to the Theta and they make a point to make sure every kittenfloss is thoroughly trained in their ability from a young age. Weaker floss begin only being able to turn semi-transparent, easily noticed if someone looks directly at them, But with practice they can become completely invisible from even themselves. After mastering self invisibility, the next task is being able to mask your clothing and weapons, this is more difficult but most Thetafloss are able to master this in their adolescence. Some masters can  even hide their scent and their presence from being felt by more perceptive Candyfloss. Its rare, but some floss are even able to hide their minds from Iota and Epsilon floss who might otherwise detect it. True invisibility is an art.

Nice! make sure that the fur on your spikes is visible and obvious! Remember all spikes must be uniformly straight and cone shaped unless you are using an admin shaped trait!
