The Ammos Skipper is native to the northern, volcanic region of Alpha and found nowhere else on the planet. They swim through the magma and lava but make their nests outside in the rocks where they can camouflage themselves. The Ammos Skippers are thin and small, usually around 2 feet in length with a hard shell armoring their backs. They move in a serpentine pattern and skip across the surface of magma and lava, earning them their name. Being skittish, they don't like confronting larger creatures, including Floss, making them hard to tame since they curl up into a ball when spooked and are very fast to getaway. They are sensitive to the cold and are recommended to be kept only in Alpha or under heat lamps. The Ammos Skippers are omnivores and like to eat bugs and desert grass when they can find it. They are choice meals for the Flogasaurus Rex and do not get along with Floga Drakai because if they have enough stamina to complete the chase, they will also eat the Ammos Skippers.
