Meet the Mu Clan

The Mu Clan is the little sister clan. Their big sister is Nu and they are intertwined and ruled over by the same royal family. These two clans rely on each other for resources and protection and one cannot be talked about without mentioning the other. The Southern Mu territory is moderate and like Nu, is covered with vast fields and cliff sides. The ground is more fertile in Mu and as a result they are renowned for their many orchards and flowers. The Mu clan are reserved and well kept, quiet and modest. They are health focused and as a result tend to keep things clean and safe. They are kind and reliable, but have been known to keep to themselves. They take care of minor injuries and illness in their small practices and also are the caretakers of children, elderly, and domestic animals. They are highly respected by all and many will travel miles just to go to a Mu-run medical office. They are also relied on in times of distress when their great medical research and abilities are needed.

culture

The Mu are a people that are focused on health and keeping safe. They value cleanliness, carefulness, and compassion. They are generally timid, reserved, and kind. The Mu are artistic people with a great admiration for art, architecture and nature. Their abilities allow them to heal themselves and others and despite their supposed invulnerability, they are very cautious and do not take injury lightly. Even though they can heal, they prefer to prevent injury and pain at all costs. The Mu are very loving and are made up of close-knit communities and large families. True love and marriage are highly revered by them and is something they all strive for.

The Mu are a pacifistic people now, but back during the old wars between the Mu and Nu clans, they were well known for their excellent archery and swordsmanship. Their style of sword fighting was unique and now lives on as a sport and craftsmanship similar to fencing.

The Mu region is one of temperate weather, their clothing varies but many find themselves interested in the more historical fashions of lace and fancy dresses and suits. Large bell dresses, lace vests, and bow ties are common for the wealthier Mu. Most common people dress moderately. Many Mu working in the medical profession would neglect to change out of their uniforms after work leading to a trend in fashion of medical themed clothing similar to menhara.

The land of Mu is well known for their orchards and flower fields. Most of their food consists of delicate pastries and pastas created using their wheat fields and sugar plants. Wine and soda water are manufactured in Mu primarily and are sought out for their unique quality. An abundance of food throughout history has led Mu to experiment and put great love and care into their cooking. Big families in Mu are well known for cooking large meals together and inviting over the neighborhood. Food, and the time when you eat, is a special time for traditional Mu families and they put great importance behind sharing a meal together. Great lavish wedding dinners and cakes are common and the act of making, giving, and eating chocolates with a loved one is sacred.

Mu is a very hilly country that is cut through with train lines, old style intricate passenger trains are the most popular way to travel the country but small cars and boats are used to traverse the roads and rivers that cross the western area. Hot air balloons were invented in Mu and though they're not the most popular way to travel they do stand the test of time as a romantic trip for lovers.

attributes

Here are some common attributes shared by the members of the Mu Clan. Does your floss fit the mold? Or are they an odd man out? Either way these are some stereotypes they may be compared to by other Candyfloss throughout their lives.

  • Fragile | The Mufloss’ pacifistic tendencies and typical small bodies lead some floss to assume they are weak of body, and may often underestimate them and offer to help when it’s not needed.
  • Shy | Mufloss are thought of as being a timid people who keep to themselves. Floss often take extra care when addressing them, until they get to know them of course.
  • Affectionate | Mu are considered the lovey-dovey clan and some assume them to be overly caring, sweet and loving. This can be a harmful stereotype to those who don’t fit the role, or who have a hard time with patience and forgiveness.
  • Polite | Etiquette is important to the Mu culture and floss tend to assume they are polite and well mannered. This isn’t always the case.
  • Anxious | The Mu way of life is one of cleanliness and safety, to a degree where the desire to micromanage and anxiety is commonplace.

History

The Mu and Nu clans were not always allies, in fact they have a historied past of fighting with one another in war over territory. They didn't understand each other and fought because of their differences. The Mu clan was prim and proper and hated the Nu clan’s reckless abandon and dangerous sports. The princess of the Mu clan at the time was called Margaux. She didn't like the wars and hated the Nu because she was taught that their barbarism is what was causing the conflict. One day while exploring near the border, Margaux found her way deep in the forest at the edge of the brush and stumbled into a beautiful flower garden. There she met a young girl from the other side of the war. The two were like minded and when first seeing each other’s clan gem they kept their distance, unsure of what the other would do. It didn’t take long for the two playful girls to begin loosening up and talking together about the beauty of the field they were lost in. They began to laugh and played until dark and seemed to not mind each others’ clans. When they heard their families calling to them from beyond the forest the girls went their separate ways with a promise to return. The next day they met again and talked and played together despite their clans’ conflict. It was a place for them both to escape the war torn worlds they came from. At first they were at odds, finding many things that they thought of differently, but after talking they came to understand each other and made new revelations about their neighboring clan members. A newfound respect was formed. The two girls met in the field for many weeks until the front lines of the war closed in and soldiers from each front started to tear down the forest. Margaux and her new friend, Ava, stood their ground and when the two earring sides came together in the flowering field they stopped them, sharing what they learned from one another they were able to convince their families to make peace. From then on the two clans, Mu and Nu, have shared the sacred land between their nations and built their capitals around the little forest and flower field where there now stands a great statue of the two princesses that learned to find compromise.

LEADER

The leader of Mu is the King Noah Shiloh. He is cold, blunt, and a pessimist, but has a soft spot for macaroons and his wife, Maddie, the Nu leader. Noah has a health condition that makes it easy for him to be bruised and cut, leading him to be hovered over and overprotected as a child. Though he is stronger now he still gets hurt easily and always has a box of band aids somewhere on him. Being sheltered as a child he admired Madeline for her rambunctious attitude and tendency to drag them both into troublesome adventures when their busy parents were looking the other way. As teens they fell in love and despite their parents’ disapproval they fought to be wed. They now share responsibility for their clans’ leadership. Noah is more into fashion than he’s willing to admit and keeps a secret stash of fashion magazines tucked away in their castle. Prone to existential crisis, Madeline is the only Candyfloss capable of getting Noah out of bed some days. Noah is father to six kids ranging in ages. Being a father is Noah's greatest pride and his children are bright spots of joy in Noah’s busy and stressful life. As a dad, Noah has a better understanding of why his parents raised him how they did. Though he has the urge to keep them safe he also knows the value is letting them play and adventure thanks to Madeline.

Mu territory

The land in Mu is an expanse of hilly grasslands and fields of flowers.  They are more fertile towards the South and become dryer as they mix  with Nu territories. The trees in this region tend to be oddly shaped,  from tall slender triangular pines to trees that naturally grow in  perfect circles like lollipops. Hedged gardens are common to find  throughout the many hills and glens and a mountain range lines the seas  in the South.

nature

81362185_EFHHKk32wcioGLG.pngThe weather in Mu is temperate with hotter days towards their Southern border and cold winters that usually freeze for a month or so in the North. Rainfall is common and winds are moderate. The sky over Mu is predominantly pink in hue in the west and grows more peach and eventually orangish towards the Southern borders. Flower petals are known to catch on the wind in spring and fill the air, as a sort of petal rain.81362184_cTcHTmBQsbNdpL6.png

landmarks

Godelot Cathedral
There is a large cathedral with huge and gorgeous stained glass windows. It is a very popular place for weddings and events and is a historic sight. It is not uncommon for the leaders of Mu and Nu to be crowned here when it comes time for a coronation.

Rosia Madlin
This giant winding tower in the middle of a forest is a particular mystery of the Mu. No one knows why its there or what it was used for or who built it. People claim a princess was once locked in the tower and saved by a prince however most think this is just a fairytale. There are few brave enough to explore the ancient building

settlements

Maelie Neor
The capital city of Mu is combined with the capital of Nu, the twin cities are more distinct towards their outer edges and in the center come together around a protected forest glen and flower field that contains a monument to their clan’s alliance. The city is tall and grand, with two great castles on either side with an underground tunnel system connecting the two. The roads are paved in brick and are lush and decorated. The hilly landscape leads to many roads and walkways to curve up and down, giving buildings an interesting tiered look. The focal point of the city is a grand stadium where the Omodaball Championships are held each year.

Caila Florent
There is a city in Mu that is known for their flower and wine industries. The buildings of this city are often adorned with vines and living flowers that decorate the walls, columns and rooftops. The city is famous for a beautiful bridge that used to span over a river but the riverbed has dried up long ago and now is a bed of various beautiful flowers that bloom for a few months each year.

Aime City
The city of Aime is a large metropolis in Eastern Mu that is built around a floss made lake in the shape of a heart. The buildings are tall and the streets are always busy. The city is well known for it’s abundance of stone statues depicting cherubs, angels, and lovers that are dotted around the city. A famous bath house calls this city home, that is renowned for being a romantic getaway for newlyweds and the wealthy.

Haye Varden
This small town is built in the center of a giant hedge maze. A guide is needed to find the way through the dark hedges and the townspeople are usually happy to oblige. This small town mostly grows their own food as it is difficult to get goods to them more than a couple times a year.

Blissebray
This town is near the sea. Mist commonly fills the village making it look like its on clouds many tourists come to visit to witness this phenomena and to explore the pretty beaches.

tmo3S2I.pngClan power

healing

The Mu Clan’s power is the ability to heal  themselves and others.  This power can sometimes result in the slowing  of aging, most of the  oldest Candyfloss are Mus, regenerating entire  limbs and organs, and  immunity to illnesses and other defects. Young  users can only heal  themselves, but as they practice and work harder at  their power, they  can heal others as well.

27-278338_needle-svg-png-icon-free-downl mu exclusive trait

Blood material type

This material can be applied as legendary rarity
and is an incorporeal trait, and is retractable.

The  Mu's Blood  material type stems from slash shaped "wounds" on the  floss'  body.  These are bald areas where blood can seep through the  floss'  skin!  These are not actually wounds and tend to act similarly  to Alpha's   Flame Vents. If the wound is on the scalp it tends to stain  the hair   above it. Blood acts as if it is in zero gravity and does  not drip, it   does sometimes separate into bubbles that float just  beside the main   body of the trait. Blood must be the same color as  your floss' blood  and  tongue- this makes it solid colored, opaque, and  palette bound. The trait will always attach to the wound it stems  from. Blood traits cant   be particularly large as it will make the  floss weaker and eventually kill them if they pull too much at once!

Be careful!

GuPNFPy.gif

81362183_fugLwUJmpy8eqxv.pngOne of the Mu's longstanding legends tells of a Mu princess and Nu prince that fell in love during a time of war between the clans. It ends in tragedy for the star crossed lovers.
This tale is retold and celebrated to this day as a story of how love can bloom in the midst of adversity.

Clan petpets

Eros Moro

SfcJJ5r.pngThese  precious lambs are soft and gleeful and love to sprint through    meadows  of flowers and soar through the sunset clouds! Unlike the two    headed  Dyopaw the Eros Moro's heads are rarely at odds with each   other.  You  will often find them licking each other's wounds and   snuggling up  to  each other. They usually share their emotions both   negative and   positive. The Eros Moro live all over Glykos and often   flock together  in  similar types. Feathered Eros Moro are most common   and are found  dotted  around grasslands and forests. Butterfly Eros   tend to make their  homes  in flowering fields and mystical forests,  Bat  winged Eros tend  to live  in drier areas around Gamma and Alpha  and  are best suited to  living in  cities. Much like Mufloss the Eros  Moro  are known for their  healing  abilities. The snuggle of a Eros  Moro can  ease the most  terrible of  headaches and their nuzzles can  even close wounds.

Eros mythos

81362181_ItwYXjt7XAwrPbf.pngThe Eros  Mythos is, much like the name implies, almost a mythical  creature. Only  recently have the floss proved it's existence and have  been able to  evolve Eros Moro into this form. It's difficult to raise  and rare to  find. The Eros Mythos is smaller than you might think, only  about 5 feet  high from the floor to the tops of their heads when  standing. A  kittenfloss or particularly light sugarfloss may be able to  ride one but  the rest of us are better off with a Petrinos! These  regal creatures  are calm and friendly if they know you but are  otherwise loners and will  run from unfamiliar floss. They are fast on  the ground and in the sky!

Amouille Mourve

81362176_KSQR7NJvMBjzQq8.pngThese palm sized pets make their homes in  flooded wetlands all over  Caramella but derive from the ponds and rivers  of the Mu region. They  are slimey and many find them gross or ugly, but  if you can come to  love them, their plump friend-shaped bodies give  them an endearing  charm and their quirky and harmless bahavoir make them  great household  pets. The Amouille Mourve are spoken of in old Mu  legends, saying that  there was once a Mu prince so obsessed with his looks that he was cursed  by the dark spirits to live his life as a  disgusting Mourve, unless  someone could come to love him in this slimey  ugly form.

Read more about this pet on their pet page below.

Amoure Pog

81362179_Ek3BNZPF1cZLaVj.pngThe Amoure Pog is the evolved form of the squishy and slimy Amouille Mourve from the Mu marshlands. These larger amphibians are rather rare to find in the wild. Legends say that Mourves will only evolve into Pogs if they receive a kiss from a beautiful maiden. Though, this isnt proven.  The Amoure Pog is a docile, gentle creature, that lives in and out of the water. They are lazy fellas that will often hide just below the water level, allowing their lillypad-shaped heads to sit on the surface and blend them into their environments. These critters are very flirtatious and love to carry flowers around with them to give to any sweet thang that catches their eye.
