The Candyfloss
anatomy
The basic anatomy of a Candyfloss is found through most Flavors, but some deviate from the norm. Anatomy deviations will be specified on a flavor's trait chart, otherwise they will follow these basic anatomy guide lines! Body
Candyfloss' bodies are a lot like humans' but there are some key differences. Candyfloss are covered head to toe in short soft fur. Their fur is mostly uniform in length but is thinner in their ears, and lips like peach fuzz. Their fur is most visible on joints and the middle of their chests and bellies. Candyfloss have no visible genitalia, and have no breasts or nipples.Candyfloss come in many body types, weights, and heights like humans do, but in general floss are smaller than humans. The average height for a floss is 5 feet even.
The most notable feature is their 2nd set of arms, that span from just under the rib cage on their sides. These arms are functional, but range of motion is limited and they cannot raise them too far upwards without harming themselves (and probably dislocating something!) Their 2nd set of arms are a bit shorter than their top set, and when at rest, their fingers touch their knee caps.
Candyfloss hands only have 4 fingers and their feet have 4 toes instead of a humans' 5 and do not have any nails!
Face
The Candyfloss' face is different than humans too. They have no noes, and instead there is a gentle ridge that spans from cheek to cheek. Their upper lip is not prominent, but their lower lips can be. Floss teeth are similar to humans except they are always pure white and have two small fangs on either side of the mouth, similar to a vampire. 
Candyfloss ears come in different lengths between 3 and 10 inches and can point in a few directions, but they are always pointed straight and come outward, unless otherwise specified by their flavor. Candyfloss blood is brightly colored, and their tongue, and the wall of their mouth is their blood color. Their tongues are rounded like humans, and are always a solid color. Teeth and tongues cannot be modded.

Soul Gem
In the center of every Floss' forehead is a smooth shaped gem. This gem holds the soul of the Candyfloss within it. These gems are precious, and very sensitive to the touch. If the gem is scratched it's extremely painful to the Candyfloss. Small injuries will heal in time but if its damaged enough the Floss will die. The shape of the Floss' soul gem determines what clan they belong to. This shape is passed paternally to children. Soul gems vary slightly in size, but are roughly between the size of a US Quarter and Silver Dollar. Soul gems are a solid color or a soft gradient but never have markings on them. Some clans have Gem shapes made up of multiple small shapes, these different pieces can be colored differently. Soul Gem shapes can be flipped horizontally but not rotated or vertically flipped. Soul Gems are revered by all Candyfloss and are never covered by hair or clothing. The only time a Floss does this is if they are a wanted criminal and banished from their clan. They lose the right to claim themselves as a member of their clan. When a floss is married, they have an artificial soul gem that resembles their spouses' added just below theirs to denote being married into their clan.
Hair
Candyfloss' hair is very similar to humans, and comes in a variety of thickness, texture and colors. Hair grows from the scalps just like humans. Unlike humans, however, floss can be born with hair that has multiple colors. Split hair colors, gradient hair colors and even rare patterned hair can be naturally grown. Candyfloss cannot use artificially died hair or hair pieces.
Some candyfloss grow hair on their face, like humans. Beards, mustaches, and side burns can grow naturally but its not as common. Candyfloss have no natural eyebrows, however they do have brow muscles that can be furrowed to wrinkle the skin around their eyes and show their emotions.
Eyes
Candyfloss have big almond shaped eyes that come in a variety of sizes and lengths. They are very different from human eyes, and have no visible lashes on their lash line. They do usually have wrinkles on their eyelids though.
The Candyfloss' eye is one solid color, and has a darker ring and a lighter pupil. Above is an example of an unshaded, and shaded Candyfloss eye. A Dark ring and Light pupil are required on all floss unless otherwise stated by their flavor charts. Though they may be harder to see on very dark or very light eyes, be sure to include the light pupil and dark ring.

Heterochromia
Common Candyfloss eyes are always a solid color and match one another, however with the Heterochromia traits you can have two different eye colors or multiple colors in a single eye. These can be applies to any eye type. There are two types of heterochromia, Full and partial.
Full Heterochromia is when the color on the eyes dont match eachother. They are still one solid color just not matching.On peppermintfloss who have Full Heterochromia their extra eyes must match one of the two main eyes, and must be roughly evenly distributed between both colors.

With Partial Heterochromia the eyes can have 2 colors in a gradient. Like all Candyfloss gradients, they must be complete, meaning you can see and color pick both of the palette colors, and they are evenly faded together in the middle. Partial Heterochromia can be a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal fade. It can only be 2 palette colors. For this type of heterochromia the eye fades must match one another.When used on peppermintfloss, their extra eyes can be either color, or both.Partial Hetrochromia is Rare |

time
Time moves differently on Caramella than on Earth. Candyfloss age 3 times quicker than a human does, this means a floss born in the year 2000 will be a full grown adult in 2006 and will be long gone by 2030. Ages for Candyfloss are referred to as EYO or CYO "Earth Years Old" and "Caramella Years Old" This means, a young adult Candyfloss who is 6 CYO is actually 20 EYO. Here's a quick example for how to calculate your Floss' age! If you want a Candyfloss who is 15 years old, a teenager in school who is not an adult just yet, then 15 will be their EYO and simple divide that by 3 to see how long they've been alive on Caramella. A 15 EYO Candyfloss would be 5 CYO. Events will happen in the Canon of the planet that change things in the "story" of the present day. Time in the Candyfloss' universe does not align with real time. Some things may have many years between them but happen only a few years apart in real life. Your Candyfloss' age in relation to these events does not need to be aligned, and can be nebulous. You can age your floss as quickly or as slowly as you'd like, and it would not effect the Canon of the world. You can even focus on your floss exist at different times in their life like having them be a child and an adult separately so long as only their active design is used.
power
Every Candyfloss has a super power that is determined by their Clan. Check out the clans for more information about the individual powers. The potency and control of their power grows over time, and with practice and training. Powers come in handy in day-to-day lives but can also be used for battle, construction, hunting, and for expanding technology on caramella. These powers have always existed and are a huge factor in how the world was structured and evolved. Even some animals on the planet exhibit these abilities. Powers have been found to be connected directly with Soul gems. When a gem is damaged the floss' powers can also be harmed or go out of whack. Some floss have different internal organs to accommodate their powers. The culture of the Clans are shaped by the nature of their powers.A Candyfloss is not branded a hero just for having an ability, since they are common place, but if a floss is particularly powerful and skilled with their power, they can choose to use it for good or evil and be branded a villain or hero in their society. Groups of powerful Candyfloss have been known to come together to protect or dominate others. The Clan Leaders and royal families take power training seriously, and if a prince or princess is not powerful enough then they will be denied the throne. Keeping your clan safe is very important to the clan leaders.
technology
Caramella's technology is very similar to Earth. They have electricity, cars, the internet and such. That said, the tech on Caramella was created in different ways and varies depending on the clan. Because of the floss' special powers things have been evolved and invented differently. The Zeta and Sigma clans have invented some things that don't exist on Earth like robotic limbs and flying cars by harnessing and understanding the powers the Candyfloss have.
Much like on Earth, Caramella is alone in their galaxy, and do not know of any other inhabited planets. A colony of Candyfloss mostly consisting of the Sigma Clan have lived in an orbiting moon before, and their space program is spearheaded by this colony. The Candyfloss believe there might be more out there, but have not found anything as of now.

Want to draw your Floss with other CS or Human characters? Your Candyfloss do not need to be written in the species cannon, and you can freely create AU's for your floss to exist in so long as the species TOS and trait rules are followed!
relationships
Sex for Candyfloss is handled much like humans. Their genitalia, though normally invisible beneath their fur, is similar to humans. Please read our TOS regarding the creation and sharing of NSFW imagery of your Candyfloss. (TL;DR don't.) Much like on Earth it is the norm to date a single partner and marry them before starting a family, but this often comes in a variety of forms. Candyfloss can have the same gender and sexuality differences as humans do, and there's a wide acceptance for same sex and alternative marriages. More so than on Earth. Marriage, divorce, adoption and polygamy all work pretty much how they do for Humans.
Baby Candyfloss are called "Kittens" or "Kittenfloss". Kittens are small and soft and very clingy. Families for Candyfloss average 2-3 kittens in their lifetime and the mother Candyfloss gestates for about 3 Earth months. Kittenfloss grow quickly so it's not unusual for the mother Floss to take time off until their Kitten is ready to start going to preschool. Female Candyfloss do not have breasts, and therefor do not provide milk to their infants, instead Kittenfloss drink sugar water or sugar milk from bottles. Kittenfloss inherit their clan, soul gem, and power from their fathers, and can be a handful when they start developing their abilities around 10 EYO, it's customary for them to learn in school how to control and manage their new abilities.

Caramella is split up into a number territories called Clans. Every Floss belongs to a Clan and this dictates the shape of their Soul Gem, their super power, their exclusive trait, their heritage, and more. Each clan has it's own biome and atmosphere, giving them a unique look. Different creatures inhabit each clan and each of them have unique cultures that can be read about on their individual clan charts. The Clans are all allies and floss can come and go from all clans freely. All clans and flavors can be paired together. Choosing a clan for your floss is an important decision!

flavors
Every floss belongs a flavor. Flavors effect things like the floss' colors, height and weight, the foods they enjoy, their special traits, and physical appearance. Each flavor has a history of how and why they are the way they are and new flavors are sometimes discovered or developed. Every Flavor of floss can be found in every clan and the floss' flavor is randomly chosen between their two parents' flavors when they are born. Choosing your floss' flavor is just as important as their clan. Read about how all the flavors are different and choose the one that's best for your floss with the buttons below.
colors and coats
These color and coat rules are universal for all floss unless otherwise specified in their flavor charts.palette colors

On most floss this is a 5th color, but on Peppermints this is a 3rd. There can only be 1 additional color added to a floss' palette.
Colors are tested on this color gauge to determine what flavor's they align with, using Paint Tool Sai 2.
coat patterns
A Candyfloss' coat of fur usually has markings or patterns on it, and it's one of their more unique features. These patterns can be natural and grown since they were born, or artificial but altering the follicles to grow a different color, similar to a tattoo on Humans. Natural markings can be passed down in families and are usually abstract, like whole areas being a different color, gradients, spots or stripes etc. but more specific markings like words, pictures, symbols and the like can be added artificially. The follicles can only be made to grow colors that are already in the Floss' color palette; except for one clan which has a special exclusive trait. These same principles can be applies to the skin or scales of Taffyfloss and Brittlefloss. Coat types are separated into different categories and rarities, and some flavors do not have access to all coat types. trait accessory rule
Accessories, removable or not can sometimes conflict with traits that are established in the species. Accessories that resemble traits - for example strap on wings and tails, wigs, body piercings, colored contacts etc. are considered traits, and must follow trait rules associated with them. They must be purchased as traits, and follow any and all trait rules, such as color, shape, material type, and flavor or clan exclusivity.
Any markings on the body, removable or not, are considered a part of their coat pattern. Any piercings on the body will be considered studs or ornament gems and must follow their respective shape rules (excluding the ear lobe area).
Please be conscious of how you dress your Candyfloss as to not accidentally use a trait you do not have access to. It is unfair for those who purchased them legitimately.
As a general rule - if it looks like a trait, it IS a trait.
