Meet the Chi Clan

On the top of a giant mountain and surrounded on all sides by tundra, the Chi region sits directly on top of the North Pole of Caramella. This mysterious region had been hiding in uncharted territory due to an ancient contraption created by the ancestors of our current clan leaders. The Chi region exists in a bubble, cut off from the outside world. Protected from the outside climate, the region is filled with greenery and strange mutated plant-life that grows up to hundreds of times their usual size. Because of this the Chi clan is very fantastical, with homes built into the sides of giant trees, nuts, fruits and mushrooms. It feels like a fairy land! Being cut off from society for so long, the Chi clan has recently made contact with the other clans and integrate things like electricity and telephones into their land - some are still against it however, preferring to live without modern conveniences. The Chi clan was primarily populated by Honeyfloss, so much of their architecture and way of life accommodates small bodies and shrinking abilities. It is the most comfortable place for Honies to live for these reasons, but is starting to grow a greater population of other flavors as time passes! Being difficult to travel to and from the region, the Zeta have reverse engineered the technology from an ancient artifact to create a method of teleportation to the clan! However this technology is hard to produce, so they have opted to create only a few portals spread throughout the world that take trains of passengers in and out of Chi.

Being one of the smallest clans, the Chifloss are very tight knit and tend to be loyal to their clan members. They are accustomed to helping one another out and working in large groups to accomplish tasks. Some equate them to worker bees who come together to better their hive.

The Chifloss pride themselves on their honey, nectar and syrup production that they developed with their giant plant life. Food has always been abundant in Chi and they lavish in bounties of sweet flowers and fruits, and candy critters that they hunt and farm. Being a small area, they have to be careful about maintaining the little wildlife that roams within the kingdom.

The Chi people are not religious inherently, however they do tend to share similar ideas about morality and righteousness. The Chi hold hard work above all else and respect each other based on how hard they work and what they can accomplish. Honeyfloss are at a disadvantage when it comes to physical might but they make up for it with their ingenuity, teamwork, and ambition. When a Chi is weak, they protect each other and help pick up the slack, but laziness will not be tolerated.

Floss in Chi tend to wear a variety of modern and traditional clothing. The traditional attire of Chi consisted mostly of outfits made using the giant plant life they had available to them. Large leaves are cut up to make dresses, pointed hats are made of acorn shells and flowers adorn their clothing. They can be simple outfits or bigger elaborate outfits. They usually have simple shapes and flowing materials. Dresses are common for ladies, and the men tend to wear buttoned shirts or tunics with short pants or kilts. Elements of the outfits were often made to mimic the curled ears of the Honeyfloss and would often come across as pointed or curled shoulder cuffs and curled toes on their shoes.

Here are some common attributes shared by the members of the Chi Clan. Does your floss fit the mold? Or are they an odd man out? Either way these are some stereotypes they may be compared to by other Candyfloss throughout their lives.

Driven- Chifloss come from a background that put great importance in hard work and ambition. Floss from this clan may be assumed to have these convictions. Someone might be surprised to meet a Chifloss who is lazy.
Cheery- Chifloss tend to give off a cheery disposition. They come from a land of fantasy and joy, so when a Chi is grumpy or upset it can take floss by surprise or come off as cute.
Family-oriented - Chifloss culture has always put value on large family and chosen family groups. Their families tend to be large and loyal. It can be considered odd for a Chifloss to be an only child or to not have contact with their extended family.
Gluttonous- The Chi clan is lavish and overabundant. They are not ones who are used to going without things like warmth, safety and food. Many Chifloss are raised with these conditions that lead to them growing accustomed to having more than enough. A Chifloss may be expected to be hard to satisfy, whether this is true or not.
Mischevious - Some floss find the Chi to be imp-like and rascally. In stories prior to the discovery of the Chi they were likened to brownies or pixies that would pull pranks and cause mischief. Some Chifloss lean into this persona, but most find the stereotype annoying.

History

Long ago before the falling of the Sigma moon or the great quake of Omega, or even the rotten outbreak of Theta the Chifloss lived alongside the other clans. However the world was very different back then. The clans were fighting one another over borders and rights. Unity between the clans was a thing better left in dreams as even allied floss clans would turn on each other and it was every clan for themselves. War ravished Caramella for many years and the fight for power was devastating. The Chi clan opposed to the warring and was not capable or willing to battle. This led them to being attacked and the Honeyfloss who thrived in their land were dwindling. Noticing the terrible state of the Chifloss and the Honies a few of their supporting clans banded together with a plot to save them from the carnage. The Zeta scientists, Delta botanists, Mu shield experts and Iota power controllers combined their power under the leadership of the Alpha Queen. They created a feat of engineering and power that would never be seen since. They made a generator to create a safe and lavish environment for the Chifloss to hide away somewhere the war would never reach them: The North Pole.

The barrier went up on the top most spot on the planet, on the summit of a great mountain in Pogoto and with their powers combined the other clans protected the Honies, vowing to keep them safe and return for them when the fighting had ended. They kept the Chi clan's existence a secret and many of their enemies believed them to have perished and gone extinct in the fighting. Their allies kept special devices that would allow them to travel to Chi and communicate with them. These items stayed hidden with their royal families, and passed down through generations. As time went by the floss began to doubt and forget about the Chi clan. Slowly they became forgotten, and their history became legend. The Chi lost their allies one by one, only the Iota kept their ancient device even if they weren't actively communicating with the Chi.

Floss of the new era knew nothing of Chi, and went on to try and and explore Pogoto, but the harsh conditions and the countermeasures put in place by their ancestors stopped them from being able to reach the hidden kingdom. As their isolation went on the Chi became more and more comfortable in their bubble kingdom, never knowing that the war had long ended.

In the present day, the ancient machine that held up the Chi's barrier started to malfunction and the barrier threatened to fall, exposing the little kingdom to the harsh surroundings and their supposed warring world. In an act of desperation to rebuild or repair the barrier the Chi leader sent word to the last remaining communication device to come in contact with the Iota Leader Clover. After discussing it with her, and finding out that the war was over, she came before the council of clans and the Chi were welcomed into their peace pact and rejoined society.

The clans all worked together and quickly repaired and improved upon the barrier that protected the land of Chi from it's surroundings, even managing to expand the barrier to give them more land to work with, opening up the Chi to immigrants from other clans. By reverse engineering the Iota's traveling device the Zeta were able to create several large portals big enough for trains to move in and out of the isolated kingdom. Now the Chi clan live in harmony with the rest of the planet, free from their fear of an imaginary war, and able to travel and explore the rest of their vast and beautiful planet.

The Chi leader, Honeysuckle, is a young and beautiful Queen. She is passionate and loud, and tends to make quick and emotional decisions. She has big ideas and a bigger heart and is excited to bring her clan into a new era! Raised by her doting fathers Honeysuckle was spoiled as a child and carries that attitude into her adult life. She loves to throw lavish parties, spend lots of her clan's money on beautification and luxuries for her people! As a clan rich with rare plants and goods the Chi is one of the wealthiest of clans, but Honeysuckle doesnt like to rest on their laurels. Thanks to her bold decisions, enigmatic energy, and ceaseless ambition she has led her peoples to prosper and looks like a snack while doing it. Honeysuckle is confident, fun and energetic.

Chi territory

The Chi territory is inside a large round bubble on the summit of a mountain in the center of the frozen tundra of Pogoto, but dont let that stop you from catching one of the teletrains into the kingdom! You'll be surprised by it's controlled climate and bio advanced wildlife! The plants in Chi are overgrown and can grow up to a hundred times as large as an average plant! This led the Chi to create structures and homes using the giant trees, mushrooms and plants giving the entire clan a fairy tale atmosphere! Speaking of Atmosphere in the controlled biome of Chi the sun never sets and the weather is always pleasant! Though a gentle rain fall does come now and again to clean the streams and lakes of the kingdom, you'll never see a blizzard or thunderstorm or heatwave in this cheery land. Everything is better in Chi~

Being on the Northpole of the planet the sun is always shining! The chi have become accustomed to a never ending day time. Though it doesnt grow dark the sky in the dome does change in color throughout the day in hues of olive and orange. The gigantic plants of Chi are always expanding and never rot even if they are hollowed out for homes.

The Toxic Forest
Discovered while excavating the New Chi Territory, this vast forest of toxic mushrooms is dangerous for floss to enter and thus isnt able to be fully explored just yet. It's giant mushrooms tower over the explorers like trees and are impervious to powers from the delta or alpha. Some say they heard something moving around inside... creepy.

The White Expanse
Looking for something to do in the capital? Take a long ferry ride up to the tippy top of the new barrier and have some fun in the expansive lookout pavilion. Take a look over the white expanse of Pogoto . This view of the tundra is so high you can see both sides of the continent at once. Even the clan of Psi can be spotted in the distance. Amazing!

Pachela Castle Town

In the center of the Old Chi district stands a towering hive castle where the royal family of Chi stays. The surrounding town is the most populated in the kingdom with stone and brick roads, multistory buildings and street lamps. Still primitive compared to modern cities, this town boasts busy street markets, a variety of goods and the only train station that brings floss in and out of Chi.

Willow Villa

The largest of the gigantic plants in all of Chi is the Massive willow that has been growing steadily since the Chi first inhabited this biome. This massive tree is home to thousands of Chifloss who have carved out its trunk and branches to build a cohesive city within and around it's bark. As the tree continues to grow homes and businesses move higher and new ones are built at it's base.

Little Ledenets

This small village has been built specifically for Chifloss who have shrunk down to their miniature form. Hidden in the center of a large flower bed, this expansive village is actually only about 13 meters in circumference, looking quite like a land of doll houses. Though it felt safe for them at the time, many floss recognize the dangers of living in a miniature village now, so to assure their safety a mini barrier was erected over the village itself keeping stray feet from squashing it's inhabitants and non Chifloss are able to be shrunk down for entry by powerful Chi guards.

Flora Grove

The fourth and final significantly populated area within the original Chi barrier is Flora Grove. This small town is more quaint and quiet than it's counterparts and consists of lazy brooks, unique homes and a tight knit community of hardworking floss. This is where most of the agricultural development is in Old Chi and boasts it's large fields of flowers, mushrooms and grasses that are used to make the unique foods and drinks in the kingdom.

Sneg Stena

When the Zeta floss extended the barrier of Chi the new land was still dangerous and cold. Sneg Stena is the first settlement you will come across when entering the new land and it has grown quite popular for missionaries and working floss who have come to help the kingdom grow. The town itself is rather simple and rudimentary, as they send out explorers and workers to manage the tundra and map out the new lands. Delta and Alphafloss work diligently to clear the snow and ice to cultivate a good living condition for the Chifloss who wish to inhabit this new land.

Frozen Ozero

A portion of the New Chi region that has been cleared out and is being inhabited by civilian floss, the Frozen Ozero is a city being built on top of a large lake that has been frozen solid. Despite the alpha and deltas' best efforts they are unable to clear any of the ice from the lake and thus have dubbed it eternally frozen. The inhabitants dont mind however as they are enjoying the cooler weather and occasional snow fall over this frozen portion of the Clan. It has become a hub for sight seers and Chifloss who wish to experience the winter without leaving the barrier. The buildings here are catered to the influx of tourists with colorful wood walls and decorated roofs welcoming in guests. Though navigating on the ice roads can be a bit tricky to get used to.

The town of Flora Grove is a peaceful and calm village in Old Chi.

Clan Holiday

The Chifloss celebrate Saint Dornick's Day on the first week of Autumn! This is a grand holiday celebrated across the old and new sides of the region! On this special day the Chi prepare for the Autumn season by feasting, gathering in their family units, and cleaning. They view Autumn as the last big clean before the end of the year and the colder season. Though it doesn't fully snow in Chi, things do cool down enough for the plants to die out and animals to begin hibernating. The floss in the region use this opportunity to clean their homes, evaluate their possessions and rid themselves of burdens they have been holding onto. Many chi will get together with their friends and neighbors and help them in their purging, be it of pent up emotion, demons in their attics, or just some old clothes that they don't fit into anymore. The holiday is named after an old settler of Chi, Saint Dornick, who lived a minimalist lifestyle and believed that you should only hold onto baggage that was useful and brought happiness to you. As the trees shed their leaves, and the blooming flowers shed their petals, the Chi try to be mindful of what they hold onto, as they move into the final part of the year.

The Chi holiday is celebrated in September.

Clan power

The Chifloss have the special ability to shrink themselves down to a fraction of their original size! This power only takes energy during the process so some prefer to spend the majority of their lives in this tiny state. While small the floss is 'lighter than air' and can leap and bound to incredible heights for their size, and fall very flowly, giving them the impression of floating or flying. The extremely powerful Chi is able to shrink other objects using their abilities and they wont unshrink until the power is applied to them again. Few are even able to use this to make non Chifloss shrink down with them! Woah! When another floss is shrunk it will wear off slowly over time however.

Chi exclusive trait

glimmer material type

The Chifloss exclusive material is the Glimmer Material Type! This material consists of a collection of fairy dust that sparkles in the light and is always clinging to and being produced by a hidden base~ The glimmer material is not palette bound and can have simple gradients but wont hold any other markings since its constantly shifting and moving! The Glimmer is always falling off and being left all over the place, making the floss seem magical as sparkles are always coming from them. The glimmer sparkles dont make a mess tho as they seem to dissipate when they touch the ground! The glimmer does not let off light, but it can seem like it sometimes because of the way light reflects off the glimmer dust! To draw this trait simply use no lines with a soft brush and add glitter sparkles on top of and coming off of the trait! Easy peasy!

Glimmer Material is a Legendary Trait. It is Non-corporeal. It cannot be mixed with other traits unless they can stand alone without the Chi trait.

Chi exclusive trait

Floating add ons

What?! Another one?! Thats right! The Chi have a 2nd clan exclusive trait! This is the Floating Add Ons trait! This can be applied once to a floss to allow any of their add ons to float as long as its allowed by the trait! Floating traits do not touch the skin of the floss or come directly out of their bodies. Similar to halos, the floating traits are connected with a strong gravitational pull that extends from the place of the trait's origin. The floating trait tends to have a bit of a floaty bob to it but wont go more than a few inches from it's connection point. If the trait is tugged on it will hurt and it would take just ask much pressure to pull it out of it's connection as it would be to sever it from the floss' body if it wasn't floating. Hands, clothing or object placed between the floating trait and the floss wont effect the strength of it's connection. The traits that are normally able to move or function are still able to somehow, weird!

Spraoiling!

The Spraoiling (Spree-ling) are remarkable creatures. Theyre docile leaf eaters who roam the dome-land of Chi. They're slow moving critters who have many legs and keep low to the ground. They wear protective "shells" on their backs that they can recoil into when theyre in danger or frightened. Their shell will often take different forms to match their environment for better protection. The Spraoilings can use minification to change their size. Their natural size is quite large in fact, coming in around 15 feet tall at their full height. When at this large of a size the Spraoiling are often used as mounts for the Chifloss, and can often be found pulling carriages or carts of supplies across the hills of Chi. Though they CAN be large, the Spraoiling often WANT to be small, extremely small in fact, they are most often found between 2 feet tall all the way to several inches in height. Their bodies come in slick and furred variations that help them to adapt to conditions in any clan. The little Spraoiling are affectionate, easy to care for and make for fabulous pets all across Caramella.
